For two (2) consecutive years, Philippine
Business Bank (PBB) takes pride to stay
among the Top 30 cited technology initiatives
by IDC Financial Insights. The Asian Financial
Services Congress' Financial Innovation
Awards (FIIA) 2012 which was held at the
Marina Bay Sands, Singapore last February
29-30, 2012 received 172 entries submitted
by various banks and other financial institutions
from the Asia /Pacific region.
From the last year's Top 40, IDC have
it reduced to Top 30 which made the judging
more stringent. PBB's Information and
Technology Group (ITG) and International
Banking Group (IBG) last year's entry
in the implementation of its Society for
Worldwide Interbank Financial Transfers
(S.W.I.F.T.) on SaaS still managed to
stay and be cited among the Top 30 in
spite of a firmer competition since entries
went up to 172 from the last year's 153.
This another citation only shows the
ability of PBB's technology initiatives
to compete internationally and be recognized
not only here in the Philippines but in
other countries as well.
