PBB Participates in ECOP’s NCE47: Towards a Dynamic, Resilient, and Sustainable Future

On May 20, 2026, the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) launched the 47th National Conference of Employers (NCE47) at The Manila Hotel. This event gathered key stakeholders from the government, business sector, academia, and labor groups under the theme “Towards a Dynamic, Resilient, and Sustainable Future.”
The conference addressed pressing challenges such as inflation, technological disruption, supply chain volatility, and climate change. It highlighted the critical role employers play in developing a future-ready workforce and sustainable business practices.
Keynote sessions featured senior officials and global experts who focused on responsible AI adoption, sustainability transitions, and inclusive growth. A panel on competitiveness included insights from representatives of the Philippine Competition Commission, Boston Consulting Group, and the Asian Institute of Management, discussing strategies to enhance Philippine competitiveness.
Discussion topics were led by experts from Globe Business, Bain & Company, and Deloitte Philippines, focusing on AI regulation and digital transformation. Additionally, the Agriculture Fireside Chat, led by Mercedita A. Sombilla of SEARCA, examined ASEAN competitiveness in agriculture.
Francis Saturnino C. Juan, Chair of the ERC, and Jonathan Paul Back, CFO of ACEN, presented on enhancing competitiveness through sustainable energy solutions. Don McLain Gill from De La Salle University provided insights into regional tensions and their effects on business dynamics.
In closing remarks, Jose Ma. “Joey” Concepcion III emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector to achieve inclusive growth.
